Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has announced four new COVID cases, one of which requires investigation to determine the origin.

Dr Rowley made the announcement while addressing a political meeting in San Fernando tonight.

“We are still exposed to grave danger. It will be a serious mistake to believe that because we have been able to protect ourselves so far, that we are protected and we are now invincible.

When I left Port-of-Spain this morning on my way to Moruga, we were still dealing with the news of a couple additions to our list of confirmations to COVID. By the time I get home tonight, there are four more – three which came in with traffic and one we haven’t identified the location. Ladies and gentlemen we are still in danger,” he said.

Those cases were not reflected in the latest update from the Ministry of Health.

The prime minister slammed Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar for stating that nationals who are unable to return home due to closed borders are being treated “worse than slavery”.
