A 29-year-old man was stabbed to death after he reportedly got into an argument with a stranger in Woodbrook early on Saturday morning.
Police said Stanley Gregoir was in a black MG SUV which was parked along Alberto Street, at around 2.10 am when he got into an argument with several people.
Gregoir was stabbed several times by his attacker and ran out of the car and onto the street to try and get away. However, his attacker chased him along Alberto Street, leading to a scuffle, as Gregoir was chopped on the pavement as the attacker fled.
Police on patrol were flagged down by passers-by. The officers then took Gregoir to the Port of Spain General Hospital where he was declared dead.
Police from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region I are continuing enquiries.
