After being shot multiple times, Donte Fortune ran for safety into a room of a Claxton Bay bar but collapsed. The 22-year-old from Quarry Road, Morne Diablo, was attacked around 10:05 pm on Friday.
Police received a report of the shooting, and officers from the St Margaret's Police Station found Fortune lying inside the bar.
Witnesses saw him flee through the entrance and make his way to a room on the western side of the building. Officers discovered him in a pool of blood, dressed in a black jersey and camouflage three-quarter pants.
Homicide officers recovered two spent 9mm shells with CBC 9mm Luger markings and one live 9mm round with identical markings. Fortune's body was viewed by the District Medical Officer and removed to the Forensic Science Centre.
