Minutes after visiting his daughter at her Warrenville home, a Felicity father was knocked down while crossing the Uriah Butler Highway.
Police said Lutawn Bally’s body was dragged by passing vehicles.
Officers said Bally, 50, who lived with his mother at Charran Street, Felicity, was visiting his 12-year-old daughter at the Warrenville home she shared with her mother, his estranged wife.
Bally had dropped off a meal for the child and spent time with her.
However, after he left he crossed the highway to make his way back home.
But while attempting to cross the northbound lane around 9 pm in the vicinity of Marchin Road, Bally was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
Police believe the impact was fatal and Bally was not alive when other vehicles drove over him dragging his body several feet away.
Speaking with Guardian Media, Bally’s estranged wife, Vanessa said their daughter was taking her father’s death, hard.
“Every evening he would come and look for his daughter and last evening was no different, but she is real taking his death hard. She is blaming herself,” Vanessa said.
Vanessa said she would like assistance in preparing for the funeral as she does not have the financial means to do so at the moment.
Anyone willing to assist can contact Vanessa at 746-1382.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
