In­ves­ti­ga­tions are un­der­way in­to the mur­der of An­tho­ny “Tony Jack­ie” Seeri­ram, who was gunned down on Sun­day af­ter­noon at Church Street, Chick­land. 

Po­lice said the 50-year-old Freeport res­i­dent, who had nar­row­ly sur­vived a re­cent at­tempt on his life, was fa­tal­ly shot around 4.30 pm.

His body was found on the road. He had been shot mul­ti­ple times, po­lice said.

Po­lice said Seeri­ram was ac­cused of or­ches­trat­ing fraud­u­lent land sales and may have paid the ul­ti­mate price for his deal­ings.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors al­so sus­pect­ed that Seeri­ram had cru­cial in­for­ma­tion about the 2023 dis­ap­pear­ance of broth­ers Matthew and Mikiel Ho­sein.

Matthew, 17, was last seen on Au­gust 25, 2023. Two months lat­er, his old­er broth­er, Mikiel, 19, al­so went miss­ing. His de­com­pos­ing was found in De­cem­ber of that year.

Yes­ter­day, the moth­er of the Ho­sein broth­ers, Ri­ma, said she was hop­ing Seeri­ram would help bring clo­sure.

“I’m sor­ry to hear about An­tho­ny’s mur­der be­cause he told me he would find out what hap­pened to my sons,” she said. “I just need to know where Matthew is. I’m not sleep­ing. I just need to know if he’s alive or if he’s gone. If he’s gone, tell me where his body is at least.”
