Police Commissioner Erla Harewood-Christopher was said to be in high spirits on Thursday when she was being questioned by her subordinates.
Speaking with Guardian Media today, Harewood-Christopher's husband Theldon said he last saw his wife on Thursday at her office.
"I saw her yesterday at the headquarters and she's in good spirits," he told Guardian Media.
Christopher said he too was doing well and was in the dark about the investigation. The retired police officer said he was "doing okay" and trying his best to keep up with his wife's detention.
"Once she's seen us around, you know, she will have that good spirit. When we are not around, I don't know what goes on, but so far, I believe she's speaking, up to this time," he said, adding that he was unable to speak to his wife about her detention.
Christopher said he is learning about his wife's detention from the media.
Erla Harewood-Christopher spent Thursday night at the St Clair Police Station, Port-of-Spain after being detained for questioning in relation to ongoing investigations into the Strategic Services Agency (SSA).
The country’s first woman police chief is being questioned in relation to the issuance of two firearm user’s licences for AX2 bolt action sniper rifles by the SSA.
Sources said she could be charged with misbehaviour in public office after key documents pertaining to the FULs went missing.
Her detention came a day after former SSA head Roger Best was held for questioning by police. Best remains at the Belmont Police Station.
