Two men were killed in a dou­ble shoot­ing at Up­per St. Fran­cois Val­ley Road, Bel­mont, around 11:10 pm on Sat­ur­day.

Of­fi­cers re­spond­ed to re­ports of gun­shots and dis­cov­ered the body of 18-year-old Steven Shadrach Chu­niesingh, of Ari­ma, ly­ing on the ground with gun­shot wounds. The sec­ond vic­tim, 54-year-old Ian Jones Thomas, of Biche, was found seat­ed in the pas­sen­ger seat of a sil­ver Ford Ranger, al­so with gun­shot in­juries.

Po­lice cor­doned off the area and con­tact­ed homi­cide in­ves­ti­ga­tors and foren­sic per­son­nel. The Dis­trict Med­ical Of­fi­cer pro­nounced both men dead at the scene, and their bod­ies were sent to the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre for au­top­sies.

The ve­hi­cle was towed for fur­ther analy­sis, and in­ves­ti­ga­tors re­trieved sev­er­al pieces of ev­i­dence as en­quiries con­tin­ue.
