The national death toll for COVID-19 is inching closer to 3,000 as the Ministry of Health recorded 25 more deaths from the disease today, Monday 27 December 2021. As of today, the national death toll now stands at 2,793 lives lost.
In addition, for the first time in a couple of weeks, the Ministry noted a significant drop in new infections which has been in the high hundreds for several days. Today, the Ministry’s report documents 175 new infections, based on samples taken between December 23rd and 26th.
The number of active cases of COVID-19 in the country, at this time, now stands at 16,723.
