Six police officers and four civilians, including a child, were injured after the floor of the upper level of a house collapsed during a State of Emergency operation on Monday.
The incident occurred shortly before 7 am.
Officers of the Point Fortin CID and South Western Division Task Force were conducting a search under Regulations 8 and 13 of Legal Notice 240 of the Emergency Powers Regulations, at the home of a priority offender at Fanny Village, Point Fortin.
The six officers were upstairs with the priority offender, his wife and four-year-old daughter when the wooden flooring suddenly collapsed.
The officers and the three occupants fell on top of a fourth occupant who was downstairs.
The officers and civilians suffered minor injuries and were taken to the Point Fortin Hospital where they were treated and discharged.
A senior officer confirmed that the priority offender was in police custody last evening.
Investigations are continuing.
