Po­lice Com­mis­sion­er Er­la Hare­wood-Christo­pher is re­port­ed­ly be­ing ques­tioned by in­ves­ti­ga­tors at her of­fice at the Po­lice Ad­min­is­tra­tion Build­ing in Port-of-Spain.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors ar­rived at the build­ing around 10 a.m. The in­ves­ti­ga­tion is be­lieved to be re­lat­ed to the im­por­ta­tion of two sniper ri­fles for the Strate­gic Ser­vices Agency, sources tell Guardian Me­dia.

How­ev­er, there has been no of­fi­cial com­ment from the TTPS.

In the mean­time, ex­ec­u­tive mem­bers of the TTPS met to­day in a ses­sion chaired by Deputy Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice Op­er­a­tions Ju­nior Ben­jamin.

Guardian Me­dia spoke with TTPS Le­gal Of­fi­cer Za­hir Ali, who re­ferred ques­tions to the Cor­po­rate Com­mu­ni­ca­tions Unit, which has not yet re­spond­ed to our queries.

Na­tion­al Se­cu­ri­ty Min­is­ter Fitzger­ald Hinds did not an­swer calls. 

Op­po­si­tion MP Dr. Roodal Mooni­lal de­clined to com­ment on what he called an un­fold­ing de­vel­op­ment.

"The facts are not known at this time, but I can say this is an­oth­er dis­turb­ing event in an al­ready dis­tress­ing week." 

For­mer Po­lice Com­mis­sion­er Gary Grif­fith al­so de­clined to com­ment.
