A Carenage man was arrested in connection with the theft of a pirogue and two engines, during a police anti-crime exercise in Freeport, yesterday.
According to a release from the TTPS, an anti-crime exercise was conducted in the Carenage District between 3 pm and 6 pm on Thursday (September 5, 2024). it included officers of the Freeport Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Freeport Warrants and Central Division Task Force Area North.
The TTPS reports that during the exercise, police officers recovered a 29ft Bowen Pirogue and two Yamaha engines. The items are thought to have been stolen during a robbery in the Freeport District on September 3, 2024.
A 43-year-old man from Sea View, Carenage, was arrested in connection with the seizures.
Investigations are ongoing.
The exercise was coordinated by Senior Superintendent Simon, Superintendent Gyan, Inspector Estrada and supervised by Sgt Harriot.
