The British High Commission and the Proman Foundation have signed of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to increase the number of Chevening Scholarship awards offered to Trinidad and Tobago nationals.
It specifically targets students intending to study at accredited universities in the United Kingdom in process engineering, chemical engineering, energy, and sustainability disciplines.
Chevening is a UK government international awards programme that has been aimed at developing global leaders since 1983.
One additional Chevening Scholarship will be offered each year for the next two years while the scholarship will be available to students pursuing postgraduate studies in process engineering, chemical engineering, energy, or sustainability.
British High Commissioner to Trinidad and Tobago, Jon Dean, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, saying, “This collaboration with the Proman Foundation will provide talented students from diverse backgrounds to pursue a master’s degree in the UK. The additional scholarship will not only contribute to the growth of expertise in critical sectors such as energy and sustainability but also underscores the continued strong ties between the UK and Trinidad and Tobago.”
