8 more COVID-19 deaths, 412 new positive cases

Eight more peo­ple—three el­der­ly men, one el­der­ly woman, two mid­dle-aged men, and two mid­dle-aged women—have lost their lives to COVID-19, while an­oth­er 412 peo­ple have test­ed pos­i­tive for the dis­ease, ac­cord­ing to the lat­est up­date from the Min­istry of Health.

In its up­date for to­day, Tues­day 22 Feb­ru­ary 2022, the Min­istry notes five per­sons had mul­ti­ple co­mor­bidi­ties, two per­sons had one co­mor­bid­i­ty each, while one per­son had no known med­ical con­di­tions.  Their deaths have pushed up the na­tion­al death toll to 3,582 lives lost.

Among the co­mor­bidi­ties present in the de­ceased were di­a­betes, hy­per­ten­sion, chron­ic kid­ney dis­ease, heart dis­ease, de­men­tia, asth­ma, schiz­o­phre­nia, and a his­to­ry of strokes.

In ad­di­tion, the 412 new pos­i­tive cas­es, based on sam­ples tak­en be­tween Feb­ru­ary 17th and 21st, mean that there are now 20,830 ac­tive cas­es of COVID-19 in the coun­try, at this time.

The Min­istry al­so notes that over­all, some 124,488 peo­ple have had COVID-19 since pan­dem­ic track­ing be­gan in March 2020, with 100,076 of them hav­ing re­cov­ered.
