1 new COVID-19 death and 31 new cases in Tobago

One new death from COVID-19 has been record­ed in To­ba­go, mov­ing the to­tal num­ber of deaths on the is­land to 245.  

Ac­cord­ing to the Di­vi­sion of Health, Well­ness and So­cial Pro­tec­tion, in the To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA), this is the first new death from the dis­ease which has been record­ed in over a week. Pri­or to Wednes­day March 9, the last COVID-19 death was record­ed on Tues­day 1st March 2022.

And 31 more peo­ple have test­ed pos­i­tive for COVID-19 in To­ba­go, ac­cord­ing to the Di­vi­sion’s up­date for Wednes­day 9th March 2022.  These new in­fec­tions bring the num­ber of cur­rent ac­tive in­fec­tions on the is­land to 308.

Cur­rent­ly, 11 peo­ple are hos­pi­talised with COVID-19, nine of whom have not been vac­ci­nat­ed at all against the dis­ease, while two (2) peo­ple have been ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed.

The Di­vi­sion’s up­date al­so re­ports that at present, the to­tal num­ber of peo­ple in To­ba­go who have re­cov­ered from COVID-19 since March 2020, is now 6,890.
