FORMER PETROTRIN's petroleum engineer Faizul Ramjohn, passed away peacefully on Wednesday June, 26, 2024 at his residence, Ramatally Park, Fyzabad. He was the son of the late Zainool and Sidikha Ramjohn, brother of Feroza,Kazim and Farouk. Uncle of Fareed and Shaliza. Nephew of Kadir Abdool. Cousin of the Abdools of Avocat, the Hamids family of Massahood Junction, the Johanof Point Fortín, Hoseins of Freeport, Nazool Ahamad of Princes Town. Friend of Tony Ramlackansign and attorney Stephen Boodram.

1949 - 2024 Pooran Ramlakhan, formerly of Plaisance Vge, PaP, recently passed away in Toronto. He was the loving husband of Chandra ‘Sandra’ nee Lakhan, and beloved father of Sarita and Vinod. Pooran was 11th of 15 Children of Late Ramlakhan and Phoolasarie Suckrit (nee Debideen) of Plaisance Village, Pointe-a-Pierre. He was the cherished brother of Harry ‘Titi’ (dec), Ganpat ‘Morne’ (dec), Tita Gangadai, Krishna, Elaine Ramdai, Linda Dhanasarie (dec), Kamla, Jaiharry, Satnarine, Jaisiree ‘Tull’ (dec), Rajendra, Tensing, Marilyn Rajkumarie and Suzie Dhanmati. He was Brother-in-law of Kelvin, Suresh and Salil, and Uncle to many. Pooran was relative of the Debideens of Couva, Lakhans of San Juan, Rohit Singh Family of Palmiste, Ramadhars of PaP, Sookrits of Toronto, Ganesh’s of Phoenix Park, Ramkhelawan’s and many other families. He was friend of many in Trinidad and Toronto, and member of the Blue Star Ashram. Pooran attended PaP Govt Primary School and St Benedict’s College. He was a Civil Servant and a Meteorologist of Met Office before migrating to Canada. Pooran was admired for his ability to maintain relationships with relatives, friends, villagers and coworkers alike. He attracted people with his infectious smile and outgoing personality. He had a knack for making connections, no matter the differences of country or culture. Pooran loved sports, especially Cricket. His passion for Geography manifested itself later in life through many treks across the globe, including Africa, India, Australia, Near and Far East countries. He shared his love and knowledge of star-gazing, airplanes, and all things wildlife. Pooran’s unwavering belief in Karma saw him through his cancer treatments in good spirits, and healways flashed his signature 2 thumbs up ‘feeling great’, until his peaceful passing. We thank all who visited him from Trinidad, Canada and USA, and chanted Mantras and sang Bhajans. We thank staff at Hill House Hospice (Toronto) for their selfless service and love. ‘Ram Naam Satya Hai. Yahee Sab Kee Gat Hai.
