The Bar­keep­ers and Op­er­a­tors As­so­ci­a­tion of Trinidad and To­ba­go (BOATT) is re­new­ing its call for the Prime Min­is­ter to re­con­sid­er the cur­rent re­stric­tions on bars, be­cause of the COVID-19 pan­dem­ic, warn­ing of im­pend­ing per­ma­nent clo­sure and bank­rupt­cy of sev­er­al of those busi­ness­es.

(CNN)—A fi­nal analy­sis of the Phase 3 tri­al of Pfiz­er's coro­n­avirus vac­cine shows it was 95% ef­fec­tive in pre­vent­ing in­fec­tions, even in old­er adults, and caused no se­ri­ous safe­ty con­cerns, the com­pa­ny said Wednes­day.

The Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice is re­port­ing that some 40 pub­lic health penal­ty no­tices were is­sued yes­ter­day, Sun­day 15 No­vem­ber 2020, across three polic­ing di­vi­sions—name­ly East­ern, North East­ern and South West­ern Di­vi­sions.

(CNN) — The Mod­er­na vac­cine is 94.5% ef­fec­tive against coro­n­avirus, ac­cord­ing to ear­ly da­ta re­leased Mon­day by the com­pa­ny, mak­ing it the sec­ond vac­cine in the Unit­ed States to have a stun­ning­ly high suc­cess rate.

The Min­istry of Health has record­ed 50 new COVID cas­es. In a press re­lease is­sued this af­ter­noon, the min­istry stat­ed that of the 50 new pos­i­tive cas­es, 20 are from a clus­ter of cas­es with­in the prison sys­tem and one is a re­cent­ly repa­tri­at­ed per­son. The num­ber of pos­i­tive cas­es re­port­ed re­flects sam­ples tak­en dur­ing the pe­ri­od Nov 10th-12th.

East­ern Di­vi­sion Po­lice are re­mind­ing the pub­lic that there is a ze­ro tol­er­ance to Pub­lic Health Or­di­nance Reg­u­la­tions in­fringe­ments in the dis­trict.

The Bar Keep­ers and Op­er­a­tors As­so­ci­a­tion (BOATT) wants Dr Maryam Ab­dool-Richards—Prin­ci­pal Med­ical Of­fi­cer / In­sti­tu­tions at the Min­istry of Health—to pro­vide sci­en­tif­ic da­ta which shows that the con­sump­tion of al­co­hol would lead per­sons to re­duce their an­ti-COVID mea­sures, name­ly face-mask wear­ing and so­cial dis­tanc­ing.

The Coast Guard in­ter­cept­ed a par­ty boat with 76 peo­ple on board who were head­ed Down The Is­lands yes­ter­day. Fol­low­ing a re­port of an over­loaded mo­tor ves­sel slip­ping berth from Al­can Bay, Ch­aguara­mas, Coast Guard of­fi­cers in­ter­cept­ed and es­cort­ed the ves­sel back to the bay where a head­count was done. On­board were 40 fe­males and 36 males who were hand­ed over to the po­lice. In a re­lease, the Coast Guard re­mind­ed cit­i­zens and oth­er mar­itime users that un­der cur­rent Pub­lic Health Or­di­nance “it is il­le­gal to be part of any gath­er­ing ex­ceed­ing ten peo­ple whilst en­gaged in any mar­itime ac­tiv­i­ty.”

Over 200 in­mates at the Max­i­mum Se­cu­ri­ty Prison (MSP) in Arou­ca will un­der­go swab­bing for test­ing for Covid-19 on Wednes­day and Thurs­day, this week.
