In a move toward digital transformation and financial transparency, the T&T Securities and Exchange Commission (TTSEC) has launched its new data hub for financial and market statistics.
The innovative, interactive online platform is designed to streamline public access to vital securities data, consolidating essential financial statistics directly on the regulator’s corporate website.
The new portal marks a significant shift from the regulator’s legacy data-sharing methods.
Historically, the TTSEC provided securities market statistics through static, downloadable Excel spreadsheets and semi-annual publications.
While these tools supported market analysis for years, the new data hub introduces a centralised, user-friendly workspace that makes tracking market indicators faster, more intuitive, and more efficient for investors, researchers, market intermediaries and policymakers.
“Users will now have access to a more interactive, user-friendly and efficient platform that provides key financial and market statistics in a centralised location. The enhanced functionality will enable stakeholders to quickly locate, analyse and monitor important market trends, supporting more informed investment and policy decisions,” the TTSEC said.
The platform aggregates key datasets, including Collective Investment Scheme (CIS) parameters such as fund counts, asset structures, net subscription flows, and average yields.
It also provides visibility into local repurchase agreement activity, trackable metrics on Government bond issuances, and broad indicators covering market capitalisation across both local and foreign currency markets alongside over-the-counter and private placement figures.
“The launch of the data hub underscores the TTSEC’s strategic objective of leveraging technology to improve access to market information and strengthen confidence in Trinidad and Tobago’s capital market. By providing stakeholders with a modern, intuitive and data-driven platform, the commission continues to promote greater market transparency and facilitate informed decision-making,” the TTSEC said.
It added it remains committed to continuously enhancing its digital services and delivering information that supports the growth, efficiency and integrity of T&T’s securities industry.
The TTSEC is governed by the Securities Act Chapter 83:02 and is responsible for overseeing the securities market and ensuring that fairness, equity and transparency remain common values in the marketplace.
