Parishioners from St Philip and St James RC Church recently went on a pilgrimage to Our Lady of Montserrat RC Church in Tortuga, which has been designated as a 2025 Jubilee Central Vicariate Sacred Site.
The pilgrims set off via maxi-taxi caravan from Chaguanas just before 6 am on the morning of January 19th and ventured to the rustic village of Tortuga.
There, they participated in the Mass officiated by Father Shijomon “Abraham” Zacharias and deacon Triston Mathura.
The pilgrims then enjoyed some family time, which included taking in the breathtaking view of the Point Fortin Industrial Estate from the Montserrat Hill, before returning to their parish.
This was considered the first of journeys to the eight holy sites across T&T to celebrate the Jubilee Year.
