The National Mickey Mouse League of Darts produced another night of drama on Match-day six at at the Kosmos Club in Port-of-Spain on September 29, with the A Division race tightening at the top while Scorpions and Bullz I continued their commanding runs in the B and C Divisions.

Just For Fun (JFF) Vikings remain at the top of the A Division, but their advantage has been reduced to just one point after they were held to a 5-5 draw by fourth-place Drifters. The Vikings endured a difficult start, falling 2-0 behind before fighting their way back to level the contest at 2-2. Drifters then regained the advantage through singles victories from Scott Mannette and captain Kevin Jacob. The Vikings responded strongly, winning the remaining three singles to move ahead 5-4, but Drifters held their nerve in the decisive team event to force a share of the spoils. The result leaves the Vikings clinging to top spot, with the A Division title race now finely poised.

E-Z Lines missed an opportunity to move to the top of the standings after surrendering a 4-2 lead against fierce rivals De Original Game Shot (DOGS) in the competition hosted by the T&T Darts Association (TTDA). DOGS captain Geddes Foncette and Raoul Edwards steadied the ship for their team as they fought back to secure a 5-5 draw. The result leaves E-Z Lines in second place, with DOGS holding third. Newly promoted Game Shot finally registered their first victory of the campaign, producing an impressive 7-3 win over Flighted Friends.

The result could prove crucial in the battle to avoid the bottom of the standings, lifting Game Shot into fifth place while dropping Flighted Friends to the bottom.

In the B Division, Scorpions continued their triumphant march at the top with a convincing 8-2 victory over Just For Fun Snipers. The Scorpions established control early, leading 3-1 before extending their advantage to 5-1 and eventually cruising to another comfortable victory. The result moves Scorpions to 42 points at the top of the B Division, while the Snipers remain third on 32 points. Westerly Pirates hold second place on 36 points after defeating fourth-place Triple Vision 6-4. There was also a welcome return to winning ways for Shanghai Bulls, who ended a difficult losing streak with an emphatic 8-2 victory over Reckless.

There appears to be little stopping Bullz I in the C Division, as the league leaders produced another clinical performance, dismantling QPCC Howz-Dart 9-1. The near-perfect victory further strengthens Bullz I’s position at the top and leaves them looking increasingly like the team to beat in the division.

Sea Wolves moved back into second place despite being held to a 5-5 draw by fifth-place Top Shot. Sea Wolves appeared to have the match under control after establishing a 5-3 lead, needing just one more victory to secure the match. However, Top Shot refused to surrender. Ashley Richardson came through with an important singles victory before Top Shot completed the comeback by winning the team event, forcing both teams to settle for a share of the spoils.

With the B and C Divisions appearing increasingly settled, the A Division remains wide open, with the title race potentially going down to the final match-day. The next round could provide a major turning point.

Match-day seven, scheduled for Tuesday (October 6) at the Kosmos Club, will feature a highly anticipated top-of-the-table clash as Jus For Fun Vikings take on E-Z Lines.

With first meeting second, the result could have major implications for the battle for A Division supremacy as the league heads toward its final stages.
