KINGSTON – Jamaica has bolstered its netball squad with the inclusion of a trio of players from the Fast5 World Series ahead of the final two matches of their netball series against England.
Trailing 1-0 in the four-game series, the Sunshine Girls have added Zaudi Green, Kimone Tulloch, and Simone Gordon to their team ahead of the must-win games on Monday and Tuesday at the National Indoor Sports Centre.
Head coach Sasher-Gaye Henry believes the additions will give Jamaica a boost in their bid to claim the Rhone Hornsby Trophy for the first time.
“We’re privileged to have a 15-member squad so we can rotate players for each game as we look forward to see how those players will be included,” Henry told RJR Sports.
“There’s lot of lessons to learn and lots of things to improve on, so we’re looking forward to game three.”
Henry revealed that while some of the players were currently nursing injuries, the medical team was working assiduously to ensure they were fit and ready to play.
“I think we have a few injuries, Achilles, and other stuff, but our physiotherapist is doing a good job, and we expect that the girls will improve as we look to get better playing our third and fourth games,” she said.
