MAN­CHES­TER, Eng­land – Ja­maican in­ter­na­tion­al Khadi­ja ‘Bun­ny’ Shaw scored twice as Man­ches­ter City thrashed Liv­er­pool 4-0 in the Women’s Su­per League here at the Joie Sta­di­um on Sun­day.

Shaw struck twice in the space of 13 min­utes in the first half to give City a 2-0 lead, be­fore Jill Ro­ord and Gra­cie Pri­or added the fin­ish­ing touch­es in the sec­ond half to help them move with­in two points of third placed Ar­se­nal.

In her first start in over two months, Shaw opened the scor­ing in the 30th minute af­ter turn­ing sharply in half a yard of space in the Liv­er­pool area af­ter col­lect­ing Mary Fowler’s pass and fin­ished across Liv­er­pool keep­er Tea­gan Mic­ah in­to the far cor­ner.

She then net­ted her 11th league goal of the cam­paign two min­utes be­fore half-time, hav­ing to con­trol an­oth­er Fowler pass around waist height, yet still man­ag­ing to steer a half-vol­ley past Mic­ah.

Ro­ord scored the third, slash­ing a strike in­to the bot­tom cor­ner in the 60th minute be­fore 20-year-old Pri­or, mak­ing her first WSL start, added a fourth in the 77th minute when her cross from the right flew over Mic­ah and dropped in­to the cor­ner.
