BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley has congratulated president of the Barbados Football Association (BFA) Randy Harris on being elected to the FIFA Council.
Harris, who is also president of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), created history on Saturday when he became the first Barbadian to be elected to the prestigious FIFA Council during the 40th Ordinary Congress of the Confederation of North, Central America, and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) being held in St. Lucia.
In a post on social media, Mottley described Harris’ election as a “well-deserved achievement.”

“Big congratulations to Randy Harris on his election to the FIFA Council, the first Barbadian to ever hold a position on this high-level football body,” Mottley said.
“With close to five decades of dedication and leadership in football administration in Barbados and the Caribbean, this is truly a well-deserved achievement.
“We look forward to seeing you champion local and regional football on the global stage,” the Prime Minister added.
