Marlon Bhim was named "Man of the Match" as Friends 4 Life captured its inaugural Harvard Sports Club April Fest Indoor Windball Cricket title at the Harvard Sports Club Basketball Courts, Tragarete Road, Port of Spain, on Saturday night.
Facing off with last year's winners, D Drinks Spots in the championship match, which was contested over ten overs per side, Friends 4 Life won the title by two wickets.
D Drinks Spot had first turn at the crease and was restricted to 26 all out in 9.2 overs with James Sooknarine hitting a top score of seven runs while Stefan Gopie got five and Zephon Richards four.
Bowling for Friends 4 Life, Bhim took two wickets without conceding a run, while Shane Ramnanan also snared two wickets for six runs, and Randy Joseph, one for two runs.
Friends 4 Life then made a successful chase of their target, reaching 27 runs for eight wickets in 8.4 overs with Nigel Hitlal stroking his way to a match-winning 11 runs while Randy Jaipaul and Keron Ramoutar added two runs each.
