Two men have been detained and a firearm and cutlass seized following an attempted robbery at a bar in Marabella early Friday morning.
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, the incident occurred around 12:29 a.m. on October 3rd at a bar along Union Road.
Police said the proprietor was conducting business when two men entered the establishment and announced a robbery.
The men allegedly ordered patrons to lie on the floor, while one of the suspects pointed what appeared to be a firearm at the proprietor and attempted to gain access to an area of the bar.
However, the gate was secured, preventing the men from entering.
The suspects subsequently left the establishment without taking anything of value.
A Marabella police patrol, including Police Constables Ramnath and Adams, later detained two men in the vicinity.
The men, aged 18 and 20, were detained in connection with the incident.
Police said a revolver containing three rounds of .38 Special ammunition and a cutlass were recovered.
