Three people were killed while driving through Belmont last night.
Residents of Belmont were jolted by gunshots followed by the sound of a car crash around 11:25 pm on Tuesday (November 12, 2024).
Upon investigating, they discovered that a white Mazda 323 had slammed into a wall on the western side of Belmont Circular Road, across from Willis Street. Inside the car were three men, all showing signs of gunshot wounds.
Two of the men—identified as Josiah John, 21, and Kadeem Andrews, 22, both of Seranneau Road—were still showing signs of life when first responders arrived. Officers from the Port of Spain Task Force rushed them to the Port of Spain General Hospital, where they were pronounced dead around 11:55 p.m.
The third occupant—identified as Arjenal Pong, 28, of Mandar Terrace, Upper St. Francois Valley Road—was found dead in the driver’s seat at the scene.
Officers from various units, including Homicide Region One, CID Area East, and IATF, supported the investigation. PC Jamie, PC Barker, and WPC Don-Ettien were among those who processed the scene.
The deceased were removed by Dennie’s Funeral Home, while the vehicle was towed to SERU for further processing.
Investigations continue.
