With SEA exams just days away, the THA's Division of Education, Research and Technology of (DERTech) is asking all political parties and their supporters to shut off the noise.
The Division wants a full 24-hour quiet period—from 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9 to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 10—so Standard Five students can focus, revise, and rest before the big day.
“This brief pause in campaign-related activities, including motorcades, amplified announcements, and public rallies, will help to create a sense of quietude and focus,” the Division said in a release.
DERTech also urged the general public, campaign teams, and event planners to keep volumes down around schools all week. “A quieter atmosphere will go a long way in helping students remain focused, well-rested, and emotionally balanced.”
The Division acknowledged the energy of the political season but called for a collective effort to protect the well-being of young learners. “We appreciate your understanding and partnership at this critical time.”
The SEA exam takes place on Thursday, April 10.
