Of­fi­cers of the Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment (CID) from three dif­fer­ent po­lice di­vi­sions are in­ves­ti­gat­ing three sep­a­rate cas­es of rob­bery which hap­pened over the week­end.

Po­lice said in the first in­ci­dent, an 80-year-old man was at his Nel­son Street, Port of Spain, home at around 12.30 am on Sat­ur­day when a stranger walked in and sat next to him.

The man re­port­ed that the stranger placed his hand in his pock­et and stole his wal­let which con­tained $2,300 be­fore leav­ing.

In the sec­ond in­ci­dent, po­lice said, a man locked the doors of his La Sei­va, Mar­aval, home at around 1.30 am on Sun­day morn­ing and went to bed.

He awoke hours lat­er at around 7 am and no­ticed that a glass win­dow at the side of his home was pried open and a purse be­long­ing to his wife, which con­tained $500 cash and bank cards was stolen.

Al­so miss­ing was a bot­tle of hon­ey.

Lat­er on Sun­day, morn­ing a 31-year-old Chi­nese na­tion­al was work­ing at a su­per­mar­ket on the South­ern Main Road, En­ter­prise, Ch­agua­nas, when two ban­dits - one of whom had a gun - walked in­to the busi­ness­place and an­nounced a rob­bery.

The ban­dits re­port­ed­ly as­sault­ed the woman and stole $1000 in cash be­fore es­cap­ing on bi­cy­cles.
