Officers of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) from three different police divisions are investigating three separate cases of robbery which happened over the weekend.
Police said in the first incident, an 80-year-old man was at his Nelson Street, Port of Spain, home at around 12.30 am on Saturday when a stranger walked in and sat next to him.
The man reported that the stranger placed his hand in his pocket and stole his wallet which contained $2,300 before leaving.
In the second incident, police said, a man locked the doors of his La Seiva, Maraval, home at around 1.30 am on Sunday morning and went to bed.
He awoke hours later at around 7 am and noticed that a glass window at the side of his home was pried open and a purse belonging to his wife, which contained $500 cash and bank cards was stolen.
Also missing was a bottle of honey.
Later on Sunday, morning a 31-year-old Chinese national was working at a supermarket on the Southern Main Road, Enterprise, Chaguanas, when two bandits - one of whom had a gun - walked into the businessplace and announced a robbery.
The bandits reportedly assaulted the woman and stole $1000 in cash before escaping on bicycles.
