The U.S. Em­bassy Port of Spain has con­firmed that the first of two ship­ments of the 304,200 dos­es of Pfiz­er COVID-19 Sy­ringe, has ar­rived in Trinidad and To­ba­go.

This lat­est ship­ment rep­re­sents the sec­ond tranche out of a to­tal 907,920 dos­es which the Unit­ed States Gov­ern­ment has do­nat­ed to this coun­try.

US Pres­i­dent Joe Biden had in­di­cat­ed ear­li­er this year the US' in­ten­tion to lead the way in vac­cine diplo­ma­cy, en­sur­ing that as many coun­tries around the world can ac­cess COVID-19 vac­cines.

"As @PO­TUS said, we are do­ing our part, and we’ll do more, but this a glob­al pan­dem­ic and every­one needs to fight it to­geth­er," the US Em­bassy said in its so­cial me­dia post on the ship­ment's ar­rival.
