The U.S. Embassy Port of Spain has confirmed that the first of two shipments of the 304,200 doses of Pfizer COVID-19 Syringe, has arrived in Trinidad and Tobago.
This latest shipment represents the second tranche out of a total 907,920 doses which the United States Government has donated to this country.
US President Joe Biden had indicated earlier this year the US' intention to lead the way in vaccine diplomacy, ensuring that as many countries around the world can access COVID-19 vaccines.
"As @POTUS said, we are doing our part, and we’ll do more, but this a global pandemic and everyone needs to fight it together," the US Embassy said in its social media post on the shipment's arrival.
