Police are trying to identify a man, believed to be a Venezuelan national, after he was chopped and stabbed to death during an altercation in Diego Martin yesterday morning.
Police said officers of the West End Police Station received a report of a body in an apartment at Green Hill Village around 6.30 am and went to the scene.
On arrival, police were told that four Venezuelan men were living in the two-storey building. Police were told neighbours heard an argument early yesterday. During the argument, one of the men was attacked and sustained chop and stab wounds.
The attacker reportedly fled the scene and remained on the run up to late yesterday.
A district medical officer was also called in and declared the man dead.
Officers of the Region I Homicide Bureau are continuing enquiries.
