A 63-year-old man was killed af­ter his ve­hi­cle crashed in­to a ditch off the high­way near La Brea on Sat­ur­day.

He has been iden­ti­fied as Bri­an Ab­erdeen of Boodoos­ingh Lane, Rousil­lac.

Po­lice said around 7.40 pm, Ab­erdeen was dri­ving a black Wingroad in a souther­ly di­rec­tion along the Archibald De Leon high­way when he lost con­trol near the Vance Riv­er fly­over and col­lid­ed with a traf­fic sign.

His ve­hi­cle flipped sev­er­al times and land­ed 30 feet in a ditch.

Ab­erdeen was found about ten feet away from his ve­hi­cle, ly­ing in the bush­es. He died at the scene. The ve­hi­cle was wrecked to the La Brea Po­lice Sta­tion.

Of­fi­cers of the La Brea Po­lice Sta­tion, South West­ern Di­vi­sion Pa­trol Unit and Point Fortin Fire Sta­tion vis­it­ed the scene, and in­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing.
