A man who was killed in Greenvale on Wednesday night has not yet been identified.
Around 9.35 pm, officers from the La Horquetta Mobile Unit arrived at Castle Avenue East, Greenvale, La Horquetta, after residents reported hearing gunshots. On their arrival, they found the male victim lying motionless on the road.
The deceased, who was wearing a black jersey, blue three-quarter pants and black sneakers with white soles, had been shot multiple times.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing the victim seated in a white Nissan Navara, TCX 1239, which was parked along the road around 9.30 pm. Several loud explosions were heard and the man came out of the vehicle and attempted to flee but collapsed a short distance away.
There were several bullet holes in the vehicle.
Dr Reisa Rahaman, the District Medical Officer (DMO), pronounced the victim dead and ordered the removal of the body.
Officers from the Special Evidence Recovery Unit (SERU) processed the scene.
Investigations are continuing.
