Gun­men shot and killed a Syr­i­an gy­ro ven­dor while he con­duct­ed sales in Fyz­abad ear­ly Mon­day.

Po­lice said the vic­tim, 49-year-old Muath Nas­sar, was the pro­pri­etor of a gy­ro cart at the Val­ley, South­ern Main Road, Fyz­abad.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said around 1:35 am, his son, So­haid Nas­sar re­port­ed hear­ing a loud com­mo­tion as he stood in the back of the build­ing, fol­lowed by two loud ex­plo­sions.

When the gun­fire cleared, he found his fa­ther with gun­shot wounds to the head.

Of­fi­cers from the South West­ern Task Force, in­clud­ing Act­ing Sgt Chase, cor­doned off the area. Homi­cide Re­gion 3 of­fi­cers vis­it­ed the scene.

Dis­trict Med­ical Of­fi­cer Dr Archee vis­it­ed the scene and or­dered Nas­sar's body re­moved to the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre where an au­top­sy will be done.

Po­lice are ask­ing mem­bers of the pub­lic to come for­ward with in­for­ma­tion re­gard­ing the mur­der.
