A Clax­ton Bay cou­ple was shot to death last night while at home with their sev­en-month-old ba­by.

For­tu­nate­ly, the ba­by was not harmed.

The de­ceased have been iden­ti­fied as scrap iron work­er Bas­deo Lal­lan, 46, and Whit­ney Nar­ine, 21, a labour­er at the San Fer­nan­do City  Cor­po­ra­tion.

Guardian Me­dia un­der­stands around 9 pm on Thurs­day, an as­sailant wear­ing a jer­sey over his face en­tered their home at Teak Dri­ve, Macaulay Road.

The gun­man shot Lal­lan in his bed­room.

Nar­ine ran in­to the bed­room and was al­so shot.

As the as­sailant ran off, an­oth­er per­son who was in the house picked up the cou­ple's ba­by from in the bed­room and ran out­side the home.

Po­lice found Lalchan's body lean­ing against the wall in a sit­ting po­si­tion, while Nar­ine was dis­cov­ered ly­ing face-down on the ground.

Of­fi­cers of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions Re­gion 3 are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
