An argument over a dog spilling coffee beans left one man in the hospital nursing chop wounds while another was arrested.
Police said around 3.45 pm on Monday, a 39-year-old resident of Brother’s Road was at his home when he had an argument with another occupant over his (the occupant’s) dog spilling his coffee beans.
According to the police report, he approached the occupant with a piece of wood and threatened him, as he swung the wood at him. The man grabbed a cutlass and chopped the other man on his hand, and they began fighting. Relatives intervened and called the police.
The resident was taken to the health centre, and then transferred to the Sangre Grande hospital to undergo surgery. The cutlass wielding man was arrested, and enquiries are continuing.
