The national total for active COVID-19 cases has climbed again today, with an additional 22 persons testing positive for the disease, reports the latest update from the Ministry of Health.
According to this evening’s update, these latest cases have moved up the active cases total to 1,839 persons.
In addition, the Ministry reports no change in the national death toll this evening, with the total remaining at 81 persons.
In other highlights from the Ministry’s second report for today, Sunday 4 October 2020:
● The total number of community cases patients have recovered from COVID-19 is 1,750. There are people who were previously COVID-19 positive and in self-isolation at home and subsequently met the discharge criteria and were released from self-isolation.
● The total number of COVID-19 patients who have been discharged from public facilities is 1,093.
● Testing continues apace, with CARPHA reportedly having received some 32,354 samples from this country.
● The total number of samples which have tested COVID-19 positive at public and private facilities in Trinidad and Tobago—since testing began earlier this year—now stands at 4,763.
