The na­tion­al to­tal for ac­tive COVID-19 cas­es has climbed again to­day, with an ad­di­tion­al 22 per­sons test­ing pos­i­tive for the dis­ease, re­ports the lat­est up­date from the Min­istry of Health.

Ac­cord­ing to this evening’s up­date, these lat­est cas­es have moved up the ac­tive cas­es to­tal to 1,839 per­sons.

In ad­di­tion, the Min­istry re­ports no change in the na­tion­al death toll this evening, with the to­tal re­main­ing at 81 per­sons.

In oth­er high­lights from the Min­istry’s sec­ond re­port for to­day, Sun­day 4 Oc­to­ber 2020:

● The to­tal num­ber of com­mu­ni­ty cas­es pa­tients have re­cov­ered from COVID-19 is 1,750. There are peo­ple who were pre­vi­ous­ly COVID-19 pos­i­tive and in self-iso­la­tion at home and sub­se­quent­ly met the dis­charge cri­te­ria and were re­leased from self-iso­la­tion.

● The to­tal num­ber of COVID-19 pa­tients who have been dis­charged from pub­lic fa­cil­i­ties is 1,093.

● Test­ing con­tin­ues apace, with CARPHA re­port­ed­ly hav­ing re­ceived some 32,354 sam­ples from this coun­try.

● The to­tal num­ber of sam­ples which have test­ed COVID-19 pos­i­tive at pub­lic and pri­vate fa­cil­i­ties in Trinidad and To­ba­go—since test­ing be­gan ear­li­er this year—now stands at 4,763.
