A leadership shake-up has taken place at Amplia Communications Limited, with General Manager Shawn Clarke out and a new acting head now in place.
In a statement to Guardian Media, the company confirmed that Bridget Rattan has been appointed Acting General Manager, effective last Thursday, following Clarke’s departure from the organisation.
The company acknowledged Clarke’s contributions and leadership during his tenure and wished him well in his future endeavours.
Amplia said that, under Rattan’s leadership, it will remain focused on maintaining operational continuity and delivering value to its customers, employees and stakeholders.
However, Guardian Media understands that Clarke was terminated with immediate effect last Wednesday.
One source said that the decision to terminate Clarke, who has been with the company since 2024, was made by the board of the Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT), the parent company of Amplia.
The circumstances surrounding his departure have not been officially disclosed by the company.
When contacted, Clarke said he had no comment on the matter.
Public Utilities Minister Barry Padarath was also contacted on the issue, but up to press time, there was no response.
In his LinkedIn profile, Clarke describes himself as an executive leader with more than 12 years’ experience spanning general management, revenue strategy and analytics, focused on building data-driven growth across telecommunications and multi-market environments.
He highlights a track record of delivering revenue growth, EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortisation) expansion, and customer experience improvements, combining commercial strategy with analytics and execution.
Among the results cited are a 43 per cent increase in EBITDA, 18 per cent revenue growth, 20 per cent subscriber expansion, and a rise in average revenue per user from US$8 to US$26, driven by portfolio strategy, go-to-market execution and performance analytics.
