Chil­dren of Flow em­ploy­ees got to ex­pe­ri­ence their par­ents’ work­place in a whole new way when Flow host­ed its sec­ond Flow Kids Fun Camp at its Trinci­ty head of­fice on Au­gust 21.

Ac­cord­ing to a Flow press re­lease, the camp was in­spired by Bring Your Kids to Work Day and gave chil­dren be­tween five and 13 years old a chance to see where their par­ents spend their work­ing days.

The chil­dren took part in games, in­ter­ac­tive ac­tiv­i­ties and mu­sic, with plen­ty of sur­pris­es and fun along the way.

Flow said the camp was al­so held as the new school year be­gan and was part of its ef­forts to sup­port em­ploy­ees and their fam­i­lies dur­ing the back-to-school sea­son.

The ini­tia­tive gave the chil­dren an op­por­tu­ni­ty to con­nect, ex­plore and learn while hav­ing fun be­fore re­turn­ing to school.

The camp fol­lowed the suc­cess of Flow’s first Kids Fun Camp last year.

Re­neasha Sim­mons, se­nior man­ag­er, Peo­ple, Flow Trinidad, said the com­pa­ny want­ed to cre­ate an ex­pe­ri­ence that would bring ex­cite­ment to the new school year while al­low­ing em­ploy­ees to share their work­place with their chil­dren.

“At Flow, we know that our peo­ple are at the heart of our busi­ness, and their fam­i­lies are an im­por­tant part of who they are,” Sim­mons said, ac­cord­ing to the press re­lease.

She said the camp was about cre­at­ing mem­o­ries, build­ing con­nec­tions and help­ing Flow fam­i­lies be­gin the new school year with pos­i­tive en­er­gy.

Flow al­so pro­vid­ed ad­di­tion­al sup­port to em­ploy­ees whose chil­dren sat the Sec­ondary En­trance As­sess­ment (SEA).

Ac­cord­ing to the press re­lease, those em­ploy­ees re­ceived a TT$500 vouch­er and a tablet for their child to help with prepa­ra­tions for the next stage of their ed­u­ca­tion.

Sim­mons said the com­pa­ny al­so want­ed to cel­e­brate the achieve­ments of the SEA stu­dents while giv­ing fam­i­lies some ex­tra sup­port dur­ing the back-to-school pe­ri­od.
