“And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it to his brethren, and they hated him yet the more. And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed: (Genesis 37: 5 to 6). This dream of Joseph was one that he had while he slept. I believe God revealed things to Joseph that would take place in his life in the future. Joseph shared the dream with his brothers, who asked the question, “Is it that you would have reign over us or have dominion over us?” This caused his brothers to hate him even more. A word of counsel: Be very careful who you share things with. While some may support you, others can become envious and jealous of the path God is taking you on.
Permit me to share a few things that will assist you in fulfilling your dream this year.
Firstly, we are starting at the place where you have already mapped out what you want to accomplish, or it can be several things. Be realistic with your dream; more importantly, have a plan of how you are going to do it and the steps necessary. Dreams do not just happen; there must be a plan of action. When we look at salvation, God had a well-orchestrated plan, for we read in the scripture Galatians 4:4 & 5: “But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.”
A plan is very important in order to accomplish your dream. Secondly, a determined mindset is of great benefit because, along the path of fulfilling your dream, there is a great possibility that obstacles and distractions can show up. Nehemiah said to those who tried to stop him from bringing to pass what was in his heart, “I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease whilst I leave it and come down to you?” (Nehemiah 6:3). Determination was in the man; he understood clearly what he wanted to achieve and stayed focused.
Thirdly, although it may be your dream, people often play a part in you getting there. Be sensitive to the people who enter your life, and while there may be those with the wrong motives, good people can also come in. Take time to discern good from evil. Finally, do not leave God out of your heart’s desires; spend time with Him and share with Him the direction you are taking. The psalmist wrote in Psalm 145:18: “The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.”
God wants you to succeed; failure is nowhere in His plan for your life.
Have a bright and prosperous New Year 2026.
